Country Gravy

White gravy, sausage gravy, or country gravy... No matter what you call it, you know having a recipe for it is an absolute must! This is a staple in any southern or midwest home. Serve with any fried meat, mix in sausage and smother some biscuits with it, drink it straight... only kidding!

  • 4 tbsp. Grease (can use butter, lard, or pan drippings)
  • 4 tbsp. Flour
  • 2-3 C. Milk (can use heavy cream)


  • Add grease to hot skillet.
  • Whisk in flour and continue to stir for 2-3 minutes.
  • When color is golden, slowly drizzle in milk. Make sure to whisk constantly.
  • Once well mixed, turn to low and let simmer for about 5-7 minutes. Stirring occasionally.
  • Once it reached desired consistency, add salt and pepper. Serve and enjoy!
