Getting a few things done before your day ‘begins’ starts you off on the right foot, feeling more accomplished than sleeping in or over sleeping.

Drink Water

Within 15 minutes of waking up, drink 12-16 ounces of water.

Starting your day with a glass of water trains your brain to be in the habit of drinking water, because let’s face it most of us don’t drink enough. Now drinking a glass of water first thing doesn’t have magical weight loss powers or anything, but your body needs water.

Water helps lubricate your joints, hydrate your entire body, help regulate organ function and promote healthy digestion. So beginning your day with a glass of water just kick starts your body to a healthy day.

Make Your Bed

Making your bed checks off the first task of the day.

This will prompt you to tidy the rest of your room which will overflow to the rest of the house. Keeping a tidy room and house will promote your mental health due to lack of clutter. When you arrive home your exhausted self will thank energetic morning self.

Making it a point to start each day with a made bed will take just a few minutes and limit you from saying ‘I don’t have time for that’ on later small tasks. Accomplishing one small task, helps build momentum for the rest of the day.

Every skin type needs a specific routine, but the three basics are: cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen. Make sure to cleanse away the oils and sweat from the night before to start refreshed, follow with a moisturizer for your skin type (dry, combo or oily) to help prevent wrinkles and ALWAYS use sunscreen to protect from harmful UV rays and help prevent skin cancer.
