Some times knowing where to start is the hardest part of starting something new. I have gathered a collection of books to help our family focus our lives around the liturgical seasons. As our collection grows, I will add to this list, so make sure to check back for our favorites! We also have books specific to different feast days under their posts, so make sure to check those out too!
If you have a book you love, please share it in the comments! We are always looking for ways to grow in our faith.
Living the Seasons by Erica Tighe Campbell
This is a beautifully curated collection of activities, meals, crafts, music and more to celebrate feast days and liturgical seasons year round. There is a variety of ideas for every age, young and old alike. Erica breaks it down by liturgical season with a collection of feast days in the back. If you are looking for a place to start on framing your schedule around the church’s seasons, start here!
The Catholic All Year Compendium by Kendra Tierney
While I don’t own this one yet, it is on my list and all the reviews speak so highly. Kendra Tierney has a website called Catholic All Year, which is chock full of activities and prayers on her marketplace. She also has blog posts about Catholic living, homeschooling, parenting, and so much more. She has been working at this for years and raising her own Catholic family. I would highly suggest you check her out!
Daily Lessons from the Saints by Father Brice Higginbotham
This is a wonderful resource for teens and adults to discover a multitude of saints each week. It is more of a devotional through the saints that lasts all 52 weeks of the year. Ideal for restarting over and over again. Some of the days could be read to the whole family, I would suggest reading them ahead of time so you can edit details you wouldn’t want to read to younger kids.
Loyola Kids Book of Saints by Amy Welborn
This is ideal for younger children or families. When we are looking for history or background on a particular saint, we reach for this book every time! It contains information on over sixty saints and their feast days, breaks down what a saint is, and is short enough old kids could read it or parents could read it to the whole family.
Princesses of Heaven by Fabiola Garza
We gifted our daughter “Princesses of heaven – The Flowers” for Easter one year. It is a perfect bed time reader for her. They are short inspirational stories about some of the most famous saintly ladies. Perfect for every young girl looking for a heavenly role model! ‘The Jewels’ is on our list to continue inspiring her with these heavenly ladies.
Saintly Creatures by Alexi Sergeant
When we gifted our daughter “Princesses of Heaven”, we found “Saintly Creatures” for our son. His personal favorite is St. Francis of Assisi who just so happens to be one of the saintly men featured in this book! This is also a great bedtime reader for him and he loves to read it to his younger siblings.
Cloud of Witnesses by Katie Warner

Another gift for our children, this board book is a fantastic introduction into saints. It has adorable illustrations of a variety of saints with small tidbits of quotes, prayers or information about each one.
